Hi Family, my name is Felise and IGÇÖm a Vherokior gal from Magiko II. IGÇÖve been getting my space legs in the capsule for about a month and let me tell you, it's been an education. Before entering the program, I graduated from Pator Tech with dual degrees in Advanced Business Administration and Galactic Psychosociology, the latter which I still have trouble pronouncing in casual conversation.
My twin brother Festuvar and I were the 4th and 5th children born into our family in GÇÖ92, a couple of 'happy accidents' according to my dad.. We grew up in the Selunix Family compound in the middle of the capital city surrounded by relatives. My family is part of the larger Lollore Merchant Clan which operates a number of retail and logistic-oriented businesses throughout the Cluster. Ever stopped to buy a Quafe at one of those GÇÿHappy LandGÇÖ convenience stores or take a quick meal at a PasitoGÇÖs or Sjora's bistro? Then congratulations, youGÇÖve been touched by that special Lollore magic. The clan runs everything from stores and restaurants to construction businesses, small trading houses and informal banking outlets, all of which are heavily staffed and run by family members.
Festuvar and I both tested compatible at three and the Lollore machine went into action to help us succeed. The clan could easily afford to support both of our candidacies, but of course sought and received Republic grants for part of the costs through our connections in the vast bureaucracy that is the Republic Capsuleer Program. The workload and pressure were intense.
That all suited me fine as it meant a chance to get away from a life as a cog in the Lollore empire, helping to oversee our financial and government relations activities. Everyone worked for the family business in one way or another because, as my mother and aunts are fond of saying GÇÿwhere would we be without familyGÇÖ to which I reply with my famous retort, GÇÿwhatever.GÇÖ I knew that if I didnGÇÖt make it as a capsuleer, IGÇÖd spend my life keeping a handle on my business while following the lead of my aunts, my mother, and eventually, my older sister. I wanted to do something on my own and being a capsuleer was my ticket. My brother wasn't so driven, but he's good so he graduated with me, only to delay his career to 'settle down for awhile' with his latest girlfriend, whatever that means.
I did learn a lot about logistics, administration, and negotiation, which proved useful to helping me excel in the program and win a few friends, one of which lost her life during her capsuleer trials and whom I still miss from time to time. I also found out the I was better than I thought at sports and not a bad pilot. Those skills also earned me the nickname GÇÿsneakthiefGÇÖ from some of the students, which IGÇÖve decided to interpret as a term of endearment.
Since graduating the program, IGÇÖve tried a lot of different things and all I know right now is that shooting things bores me, but I do like traveling, meeting people, and making money. I also like discussions about Pre-Warp Gallante History, cooking indigenous recipes, traditional Vherokior dancing, and sunbathing with a cool drink and my two cats, Dwinken and Nordji. |
